The Mary Loose Ring Bradoon from Fager is a very lightweight titanium bit. The mouthpiece is the same as the Maria, but with Bradoon rings (smaller rings). Mary's joints will never push against the sides of the palate or put uneven pressure over the bars. A very comfortable bit that shapes naturally around the tongue and reveals the bars from constant pressure. 100% super smooth surface even around the joints. A very comfortable bit to wear.
Fager's mouthpiece designs are always horizontally straight – none have a big bend forward. They are designed this way to maintain the correct balance point (BP) in the mouth. When a bit creates a bigger bend forwards the BP is also moved forward, which ultimately reduces the effectiveness of the aids.
This unique design also promotes protection of the bars and the fleshy parts of the mouth from rubs and sores, even in the most sensitive horses.
The Mary bradoon is recommended for horses that can be described as the following:
- Displays discomfort with almost every previous bit
- Feels rigid in the contact on one or both sides
- Head tossing
- Resistance to accepting the bit
Combined with Fager's Titanium Weymouth, the set weighs as little as 400g, less than a regular double bridle setup!
It is recommended to have the Bridoon the same size as your snaffle, and the Weymouth can be .5-1cm larger.
