"The 2023 World Cup was such a special event. I was proud to attend and represent not only Olson's Tack Shop, but also top lines such as Deniro, KEP Italia, Halter Ego, and Flying Changes. I met customers from far and wide including many of the top riders. It made me so happy to hear over and over "Olson's Tack Shop?! I follow you on social media!" or "Olson's Tack Shop! I order from you all the time! I can't believe you're here!". Our booth was located directly in front of the warm-up arena, which was a special treat for the few fleeting moments that I actually had time to catch a ride out of the corner of my eye! Otherwise, we were so busy I saw very little of the actual competition. In fact, many times I had customers remark that they had been trying to get into our booth to shop with us but couldn't get in because the line was so long!
While many customers left with new gear, and others left with orders for boots, helmets, show coats etc., others did fitting appointments for purchases to be made down the road. They realized the value in having someone with expertise in fitting and designing custom goods, doesn't come along very often, and they took advantage of my experience to get their sizes on file so they could order once they're ready for those tails, that new helmet, or the shiny, new boots.
My next journey takes me back to Southern California to attend the CDI at Galway Downs in early May followed by the Flintridge Dressage show over Memorial Day weekend. After that, I am taking the summer off of traveling for work and showing my horse, Teddy, locally in Seattle. I will return to Rancho Murieta in September for the CDS/Region 7 USDF Annual Championship Show September 21-24, followed by the Region 6 USDF Annual Championship Show in October.
